Charles Edward Berk (80) of Ocala, Florida passed away peacefully at home on June 2nd, 2023. Charles was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan on September 17th, 1942 to Mildred King Berk. He graduated from Lauderdale High School in 1960. Charles then attended the University of Florida before earning his Bachelor of Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University in 1965. He went on to earn his law degree from the University of Miami in 1972.

In 1966, Charles married Patricia Ann Waddle and together they had three children. Charles worked as an attorney and was recognized last year by The Florida Bar for practicing law for 50 years. He also worked extensively in real estate. Charles had many hobbies, but his first passion was hunting. He traveled the world on numerous trips that would span over four decades. Africa was one of Charles' favorite places. He also enjoyed bird watching, shooting sporting clays, and was an avid reader. Charles was a proud member of Delta Theta Phi and a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve.

Charles is survived by his beautiful and loving wife of 56 years, Patricia Waddle Berk, daughters Cheryl Lyn Berk and Michelle Berk VanDeursen, son-in-law Douglas VanDeursen, and three grandchildren who were Charles' pride and joy, Emre Dincoglu, Carson VanDeursen, and Holland VanDeursen, all of Ocala, Florida; brother, Richard McCall of Davie, Florida and sister, Anne Berk Sanborn of California, and many other loving family members. Sadly, in 2015, Charles was predeceased by his youngest daughter, Tricia Suzanne Berk.

Memorial services will be held at Roberts Downtown Funeral Home in Ocala on Friday, June 9th at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charles' name to Hospice of Marion County, Florida, The ALS Association, or The American Cancer Society.
